I created this piece with the Rock and Blues style groove. With influences of country rock, and pop-rock with the electric guitar's contemporary feel. Paired with a synth keyboard it has the potential to cover a broad genre of popular music.

The tempo is set at 59 in a 4/4-time signature using a verse-chorus form; this allows you to feel the groove evolve.  Some of the most significant influences come from the 80's subgenres in music today using a fingerstyle bass, which you can commonly hear in country, rock, jazz, and funk—and just about any other type of music. The essential drumbeats are established with the pulse through alternating kick (on the on-beats) and snare drums (on the off-beats); the ride cymbal doesn't come in till the second half or (Chorus part). A secondary kick is used with a percussive synth to drive the rhythm home.

While the harmony in its simplicity in the Key of C using the chords Csus4 | C | Fsus2 | F | C7 | G, inverting the C for a more harmonious sound between Csus4 and Fsus2.  Transitioning to its parallel of Cm using the chords Ab | Fm | Cm | Ab inverting Cm creates a balance between the verse and chorus. The melody provides that needed combination of pitch and rhythm bring out the shapes of the notes.

One of my obstacles is that I am limited in my abilities in playing instruments, and this piece needs some Lead guitar sounds to pull it all together. Using Apple loops in Logics Pro, I chose to layer in some rhythm, lead guitar, and background vocals.

With the mix, I chose to keep it simple. Using channel strip EQ, Compression, Reverb, and some distortion helps keep each instrument's integrality and clarity. By Balancing the levels and gain structure, you can hear everything with clarity.
